On World Mental Health Day, it staggered me to read the following fact on the following link: 1 in 5 deaths among 15 to 19 year olds in the EU is caused by intentional self harm. That is just incredible. I know MIND, an organisation of which I am a trustee in the local area, is working hard on developing youth groups but what is also apparent is that CAMS do a wonderful job with a horrendous waiting list. Simply more has to be invested via the NHS and other means to provide meaningful respite for those suffering as a result of their mental health.
